When Alex contacted Michelle about photography and makeup for her Canberra wedding last year, it was a thrill to be involved. Alex and Michelle have known each other for over a decade and spent the morning of the wedding reminiscing about those years.
Alex and Cameron pulled off a stunning vintage themed, gatsby inspired wedding, at a location I’d never shot at before- The Royal Military College, Duntroon, Canberra. With it’s endless photo opportunities, stunning gardens and an outdoor reception under the stars, it made for a truly magical evening.
Cameron is in the military, and during the speeches Alex was presented with a beautiful shawl from her new in laws, to keep her warm when her husband was away. A simple gesture, but one where it got me thinking how lucky I am to have my wife by my side every night- and highlights the sacrifice that many men and women go through in order to serve the country we live in and keep it safe.
From a traditional military ceremony with guard of honour, to the stunning outdoor reception complete with an awesome jazz band, these guys really know how to throw a good party! One of my favourite moments of the day however, was when Alex took some time out with her grandmother as she showed the new bride images of herself, on her own wedding day. ( images below in blog).
With so much happening at this wedding, I’ll give the *large blog post* warning 🙂 Enjoy!
